Personal Opinion

The Icon! The Legend!

Words like “Legend“ get banded about a lot more these days but in the case of the Omega Seamaster 300 it is entirely valid.

The Seamaster is a brand within a brand, instantly recognisable and loved by many.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration if I were to say that this reference is in my top 5 watches ever, quite simply it’s a classic tool watch diver that still today gets the attention of most collectors nearly 70 years on from its initial launch.

With its beefy case, twisted lugs, fatter markers and broader bezel you can see why it held such appeal to the military. A handsome watch but also one that could look after itself. The British MOD took delivery of military Seamasters between 1967 and 1971 and play a significant role in the Mil Spec history of watches used in the MOD alongside other legendary brands like Rolex and CWC. Both the Royal Navy and the Army received these amazing Seamaster 300’s in that time period. With some of the Military versions today commanding well over 6 figures.

The one we are proud to offer today is a beauty, reference 164.024 perhaps one of the more iconic references within the range, this dates back to 1968 and has a fantastic patina and lume. The bezel is a service bezel via Omega and retains all its period correct details including signed caseback, screw down crown and movement.

A few minor scratches on the glass does not detract from what a fantastic watch this is, not sure there are many better versions on the market than this one. Sold with a vintage Phoenix nato strap.

Choose your weapon but don’t take too long as this one is special….
