This one is special!

I think perhaps the rarest watch we have offered for sale so far at Patina Nationale. In 25 years of being in the business I’ve seen less than a handful of these and currently I believe the only one I have seen for sale on the market.

When you think of Blancpain you think of dive watches from the past right up until the modern day, the legendary watch brand from Le Brassus responsible for the iconic Fifty Fathoms. A watch that many consider to be the first true diver’s watch.

For sale here we have an extremely rare Blancpain Scubapro Bathyscape vintage diver from the late 1960’s. Very hard to find in this all-original condition. And as such are highly sought after by collectors.

Sized at 37mm this Bathyscape is sized just right and is the scaled down version of the larger Fifty Fathoms. It hits all the vintage diver notes, vintage grey matte dial, acrylic bezel, oversized hands and a perfect (Tritium) patina on the dial. Date wheel at 3pm and the Blancpain signed AS 1902/03 movement, which is running perfectly.  Add to the fact this particular watch is a double signed dial version, a product of a collaboration between Blancpain who were considered to be the pinnacle in Dive Watch manufacturing and Scubapro, who were and are still now today one of the premium diving supply companies in the world. Then you have an extremely rare watch.

The watch will come with 2 NOS straps, a rare silver / grey curved “66” model tropic strap as well as the equally rare black Apollo diving strap which was the brand and model of dive strap originally sold new with various Blancpain models.
