Personal Opinion

A French icon! Based in the in the watchmaking town of Besançon, Lip is the French watch brand with very cool designs from the 70s, this is one of them. There heritage goes much further back to the 19th century but it’s the military watches and skin divers they made much later on that excite me. This skin diver version from the 1970s has that classic cushion shaped case from that era, a lovely navy blue dial and just the right amount of patina on the dial. It’s automatic and runs beautifully after a recent service. It comes on a perfect navy / orange nato that picks up the pop of the coke unidirectional bezel. The watch is in incredible condition considering it’s over 40 years old. I purchased this from a Lip collector and it is all original however I think the bezel maybe slightly newer but period correct. Honestly this might be one of the best looking watches we have at Patina Nationale! An absolute bargain. You don’t find them in this condition very often. Enjoy!
