Seiko Prospex Diver (SPB317)

This is definitely in the debate for best looking and most comfortable Seiko diver I have ever seen or tried on.

It was the SPB143 before that for me but this watch is truly great. Based on a re – interpretation of Seiko’s vintage reference 6105 – 8000. That reference is the successor to the legendary and mythical 62MAS.

Standard vintage diver spec here, but just a little bit better than usual. Brushed C shaped case at 41mm but it wears more like a 38 / 39mm due to the smaller bezel.

It’s also Seiko’s thinnest Prospex Diver to date, so great if you are not blessed with large wrists. Crown at four, date at four thirty.

I find it very hard to pick fault with this watch, it just looks so good in the pictures and wears even better in the flesh. Add in the fact that it’s called the Slim Willard in reference to the original version worn by Captain Willard (Martin Sheen) in Apocalypse Now and you have legendary and iconic watch history.
