Vintage Iconic Diver alert! Look at that Logo!

One of the most asked questions I often get is “which watch or brand would you recommend to start getting into vintage divers”

And here is your opportunity, it’s not difficult to guess what type of piece that I gravitate too, or that I recommend. I have a type, you only need to have a quick look at our Instagram to confirm it. Yes I have a soft spot for an issued CWC or a diver from the Marine Nationale with correct provenance.

However certain Vintage French dive brands from 60‘s, 70’s and 80’s are a personal favourite and definitely where you find some of the coolest collectors in the world. It needn’t be too expensive you just need to know what you are looking for…..

When you think of brands like Triton, La Spirotechnique, Auricoste, Airain, Jacques Bianchi or ZRC, you thick of the legendary era of divers like Jacques Cousteau and Jacques Mayol, or the amazing Marine Nationale. These are some of the coolest, most sought after dive watches on the market.

The watch we have for sale here is the amazing ZRC Zeder Grand Fonds 300 from the early 1980’s, it ticks all the boxes for the key points you would want, Bakelite bezel, tritium hands and markers, screw down crown and that incredible Grand Fonds Logo on the dial at 12’o clock. The dial is a gorgeous bluey grey and it also has a lovely patina on the OG bezel. This is one of the rarest Grand Fonds ever made with only a handful ever being seen on the market, which has made this watch so rare and sought after. It even appears in the Vintage ZRC Book by Watchistry (Highly recommended!)

In great condition, with a lovely strong case and crown guards. The watch has been kept OG from when I bought it from the collector, it has a minor crack in the hour hand but perfectly fine, so no need to change. However it is a very simple job to refurb if required. Personally I haven’t seen a better version. This iconic French Diver is working beautifully and is presented on a nato strap as well as a leather nato strap by the brilliant Greg Stevens leather.

Do not hold your breath on this one, this is a bit special.

Good luck finding another one!
