For sale is a beautiful and original 1939 Rolex Lipton Oyster. Lipton was Rolex’s brand for the Canadian Market in the 30’s and 40’s.
It has a real Military feel to it, with the original Rolex signed stainless steel case and patented oversized crown. These watches were often given as gifts for soldiers departing for active service in Europe during WWII. This one was given to a pilot called Captain Billy Orr as per the caseback in 1939. I have done some research and he was a large contributor to the Atlantic Aviation Museum in Nova Scotia (Canada) and a very well loved and respected man. It’s a small watch at 32mm but wears more like a 34mm because of the longer lugs and oversized crown which are sharp and working well. This watch has recently had a full service, new mainspring and Crystal, but this is as original as it gets for a watch at over 80 years old. It comes on a new Camo leather Italian strap from Vblenist to compliment the military feel. This is an absolute beauty. Will be very sad to see it go.
