A real Military Watch! Proper Mil Spec!
Stocker and Yale. Sandy 490.
Stocker and Yale (Sandy) is a supplier to the US Armed Forces. Its watches have supplied different combat units including Green Berets, Navy Seals and EOD teams. They are fantastic bits of kit.
The Sandy 490 was developed in 1989 and it was accepted and issued shortly after by the US Department of Defence. And immediately used and issued for duty in the Gulf War / Desert Storm era.
This Sandy 490 from 1993 is in immaculate condition for 30 years old, and unlike most mil spec watches at the time which were quartz, this has a manual wind movement! And a hacking function.
Another reason collectors love the 490 is it wasn’t around long and was replaced by Marathon. This only makes the Sandy 490 more interesting and collectible.
A few of these on the market, but beware not necessarily all original. This one is.
