Personal Opinion
Supercool brand! Iconic design!
This Voit Conqueror Chronograph is rare and normally found in vintage dive collectors collections but occasionally they become available and we were lucky enough to purchase it direct from a collector. It arrived with the incorrect bezel which we have swapped with a period correct Voit Emperor bezel. Voit has a cult following due to its unusual history but also very cool designs, plus just look at that font!!
Voit was originally a Los Angeles based tire retreading company in the 1920’s and quickly evolved into one of the largest sporting companies in the world. This involved becoming experts in the field of diving equipment with their products becoming very popular with both civilian and professional divers. The eagle eye’d James Bond fans among you will also recognise the Voit branded Scuba equipment being used in the iconic underwater fight scenes in Thunderball.
The legendary swiss watchmaker Schild & Co made the watch for them and it was sold via there sporting goods store, so the history of this brand is highly unusual which in turn makes them very collectible.
The watch works fantastically well, with the Chronograph and pushers all perfect, the dial is starting to patina beautifully and looks fantastic on a nato but equally would look great on a cordovan leather strap.
This one truly is a beauty.
